New team at the helm of Park House           April 2024

Meet Brett and Alix. The couple moved into beautiful Park House at the end of April 2024 after Brett decided to pursue his dream of running his own bed and breakfast. They fell in love with Park House upon coming to view it and they have not looked back since.

Brett is an award winning professional chef, having trained on The Gold Coast in Australia. He moved to the UK in 2002 and has since worked in a variety of restaurants and hotels. For the last 6 years he worked as a private chef in the Cotswolds, catering at peoples weddings and private parties. Whilst keen to continue to share his love of cooking, Brett decided it was time to step away from catering for large events and in busy kitchens and Park House has provided the perfect opportunity, with Brett now cooking delicious home cooked meals, using fresh local produce for weary walkers. He has also taken the opportunity to make the most of the beautiful setting and his Australian roots by cooking up a storm on his new BBQ (when the weather has permitted!)

The couple have always worked in customer service based roles and know the importance of providing great customer service, and a high-quality experience for guests. “We want our guests to feel like this is a home from home, whether they are on the Coast to Coast or Cleveland Way, here for one of our special events or just having a relaxing break, we want it to be special, memorable and homely for them.”

As well as Park House’s traditional function as a walkers’ bed and breakfast, Brett and Alix are planning a range of new events so even more people can enjoy the fabulous countryside it is set in. They are looking to host dining events in the near future and host weekends for yoga and photography groups.

“The countryside around Park House, from Osmotherley, to Swainby and Ingleby, then up on the moors and the Cleveland Hills, is so special, we want as many people to come to us and share it as possible."
